8″ Lani Loom (with the shedding device)

She’s long and lean and the perfect go to loom for someone who wants to keep it small but large enough to weave any piece of jewelry, a substantial beaded piece such as a small purse or wall-hanging or a small fiber tapestry. This version of the Lani Loom includes a shedding device which can be used to weave both beads and fiber. Think of the shedding device as a way of turbo charging your weaving experience.

You can learn more about the shedding device here.

The Lani Loom stands on a table with her one long leg forming a tripod. When not extended to her full length, she will also fit comfortably on your lap making the Lani a great loom to throw in a bag and take to those events where you just have to be doing something with your hands. If you prefer smaller projects and serious portability, this is the loom for you.

You don’t need anything except heddles, beads, thread, a bead mat, pair of scissors and a needle to get started with this loom.

Accessories: You need heddles to use the shedding device. You can either buy them or make your own (click the heddles tab for more information). You may want the No Warp-Ends Kit for easy bead pieces or the Bottom Spring Kit with warp coils for wider pieces. If you want some extra space between your front and back warp threads, the Add-On Bottom Beam is a great addition.

My favorite loom. This is the smallest Mirrix Loom with a shedding device. It has one sweet little leg to hold it upright. Like all Mirrix Looms it is very easy to warp and gives a nice ample shed. Easily used to create bead and tapestry weavings with or without the shedding device. Fits nicely in a small tote bag and can be propped on your leg to weave so can go most anywhere. Children really adore this loom.

This a fantastic loom to learn to do bead weaving on. It can sit on you lap making it very versatile. It is also a great way to learn to use the unique Mirrix shedding device.

I love this loom! Very versatile as I make long and short bead pieces. I love the solid construction and the ability to get such even tension and it is ergonomic! I can bead for hours on this loom with no more aches or pains!

So pleased with this loom! I had it set up and a bracelet started the same day I received it! I look forward to starting a piece with the shedding device and learning to use that tool. I can not wait to see all the beautiful things that come off this fantastic little loom. It really is the perfect size to take with you.
