I have been an off loom bead weaver for the last few years, and as I have advanced my skills, I wanted to learn how to bead weave on a loom. I already have an 8 harness 48" wide floor loom that I feel guilty for ignoring as my love for beads overtook my love of fiber. I bought a Mirrix loom a couple months ago, and don't feel I am giving it enough time. During the day I am in my tiny studio making jewelry, and the loom is inside the "big house" with three, yes 3, projects on it! I am slowly finding my way with a kind of discipline to be able to do all the things I love and want to do, along with all the necessary things needed for a healthy family and relationships. For example, I don't think it is particularly healthy for me to feel resentful at having to go do grocery shopping when I only have three more rows of peyote stitch to do to finish a project!! It really comes down to time management and discipline. I am considering making one day of the week a loom weaving only day. I'll let you know how that goes when I get back from a trip second week of April.
