22″ Zach Loom

22″ Zach Loom

5 out of 5 based on 4 customer ratings
(4 customer reviews)

Great for tapestry or large bead pieces, the Zach Loom can make a piece 19″ x 47″ but still stores easily!

Our third dedicated tapestry and bead loom is the perfect size for the weaver who wants that extra size to weave substantial pieces but doesn’t necessarily want to take her/his loom to the beach. Great for workshops because at 8 pounds and 22 inches wide, it’s still a really portable loom. But also a great addition to your weaving studio.

    Product Description

If I were to own just one Mirrix Loom and wasn’t concerned about true portability (it’s portable . . . easy to take to a workshop and even fits in most checked luggage), stuff in a bag and go portability, the Zach Loom might be the one Mirrix Loom I would buy. Thank goodness I don’t have to make that decision! What I love about this Mirrix: it’s large enough to weave a substantial, although not enormous, tapestry. It has great proportions and is still very lightweight and easy to move around (well they all are really). It’s also great for weaving beads especially if you are leaning toward beaded tapestries, purses, cellphone cases. But it even works for bracelets and necklaces. It would be great for weaving a split loom necklace, for example. If you are planning to own two looms, this would be a great companion to one of the smaller looms.

Included: Four coils: 8, 12, 14, 18 dents, shedding device and handle, two wooden clips, warping bar, flat wrench, Allen wrench, coil bar and written instructions.

    Recommended Materials and Accessories:
You don’t need anything except heddles, beads, thread, a bead mat, pair of scissors and a needle to get started with this loom.

Accessories: You need heddles to use the shedding device. You can either buy them or make your own (click the heddles tab for more information). You may want the Extra Warping Bar Kit to save warp thread or the Bottom Spring Kit with warp coils for wider pieces. If you want some extra space between your front and back warp threads, the Add-On Bottom Beam is a great addition. Our Loom Extenders are now available for the 22″ Loom. They add an extra 20″ of weaving length!
Kits: Try one of our great bead kits like the Beaded Purse Kit, combine beads and fiber with our fantastic Tapestry/Bead Cuff Bracelet Kit or make a gorgeous Woven Purse.
Beads: Have some fun experimenting with our Mirrix Blend Bead Soup.
Fiber: Splurge on some gorgeous hand-painted silk.
Thread: We love C-Lon! Try our C-Lon Color Mixes for some variety. C-Lon Cord makes a great warp for fiber and bead combination.
Extras: If you’re interested in tapestry weaving, you’ll want a Tapestry Beater (or, use a fork).

Note: This loom comes with updated clips that are slightly different than those shown in our instructions. Learn about the improvements (and how to secure the clips to your loom) here: http://www.mirrixlooms.com/new-clip-design/

Another Mirrix Loom that is still easily transported. Great weaving width and height with ample shed room for hands. Great with or without shedding device for larger beading and tapestry projects. Works great with an optional foot treadle for fast weaving. 19×40 inches is a really nice project size. Easy to warp and very comfortable to weave. I enjoy using it with the optional stand and foot treadle. Takes up very little room. Can be shoved out-of-the-way under a bed while warped with no problem.

If you could only have one Mirrix loom, I would recommend this one. It is big enough for a bead weaving project and a small mixed bead and fiber bracelet project.

I bought Zach loom late last year and couldn’t be any happier. The loom itself is extremely well designed and constructed. The communication and service from Mirrix looms has been exemplary. I’ve completed a number of small tapestries and bead projects since purchase and I know that I’m going to continue to enjoy using this loom for a loooong time.

I love this loom. It is my first loom, and I bought it for tapestry weaving. I couldn’t be happier–it is large enough to work on a scale that appeals to me, and small enough to carry from room to room, or floor to table.
