The Joni Loom is wonderful for the serious tapestry weaver who doesn’t quite need the width of the Zeus Loom.

Pure tapestry or large scale bead weaving bliss! The Joni Loom is the loom for those of you who like to think big but don’t want your loom to take over your room. Joni is 32 inches wide. You can weave a piece on her 29 inches wide and  59 inches tall. That’s a lot of space for creating your dreams. Pair her up with the stand and treadle and you’ve got yourself a fabulous floor loom at a fraction of cost and taking up a fraction of the space. She’s great with or without these additions. She’s stronger than some of our other, smaller, looms, sporting a double top and bottom beam to make sure she can accommodate the kind of tension tapestry weavers demand.

    Product Description

The Joni Loom sends you into a whole new territory. She’s the loom you buy when are moving up in size and are dying to create a tapestry or a bead weaving of a size normally only possible of large floor looms. I found that my large floor looms which took over my entire studio (until I got rid of them so I could crowd my studio with a whole fleet or Mirrix Looms) could never accommodate a tapestry even close to their width because the tension would get uneven or loose. Not so with the Joni Loom. Warp her up from edge to edge and create a piece as large as 29 inches wide and 59 inches tall. That is a pretty darn big weaving. And yes, bead weavers use this loom too. Quite a few bead weavers create large bead weavings on the Joni Loom.

Included: Four coils: 8, 12, 14, 18 dents, shedding device and handle, two large wooden clips, warping bar, flat wrench, Allen wrench, coil bar and written instructions.

    Stats: Weight: 13 lbs Width: 32″ Height: 18 1/2″ – 36″  Makes a piece:  29″ x 59″

    Recommended Materials and Accessories:
You don’t need anything except heddles, beads, thread, a bead mat, pair of scissors and a needle to get started with this loom.

Accessories: You need heddles to use the shedding device. You can either buy them or make your own (click the heddles tab for more information). You may want the Extra Warping Bar Kit to save warp thread or the Bottom Spring Kit with warp coils for wider pieces. If you want some extra space between your front and back warp threads, the Add-On Bottom Beam is a great addition.
Kits: Try one of our great bead kits like the Beaded Purse Kit, combine beads and fiber with our fantastic Tapestry/Bead Cuff Bracelet Kit or make a gorgeous Woven Purse.
Beads: Have some fun experimenting with our Mirrix Blend Bead Soup.
Fiber: Splurge on some gorgeous hand-painted silk.
Thread: We love C-Lon! Try our C-Lon Color Mixes for some variety. C-Lon Cord makes a great warp for fiber and bead combination.
Extras: If you’re interested in tapestry weaving, you’ll want a Tapestry Beater (or, use a fork).

I have to admit! When this loom arrived and I open the box I just sat down on the floor and laughed. OMG, what have I gotten myself into. This is one BIG BEAUTIFUL LOOM! After taking it out of the box….it was even BIGGER! For weeks I kept walking past it touching it’s cool copper bars thinking YOWSA! In time I became use to its size and it didn’t look so big. In fact it was so beautiful I wanted to warp it immediately. The warping process is easy, but the size makes it seem like forever. After several more warps it didn’t seem so forever. This is a large tapestry/bead loom with a big beautiful shedding device that holds a whole lot of heddles. Buy the optional stand and foot pedal. You will be amazed by the smooth shed change and ease of weaving using them. Also nice to weave tapestry without the shedding device using hand manipulation. This is a very heavy duty magnificent loom. Really takes up little space compared to my full size floor looms. This one still fits under a bed, but is a wee bit hefty getting it there. It can also be used for bead weaving with or without a shed. I have grown to love this loom and her size. Another wonderful feature of ALL Mirrix Looms is the OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SUPPORT. Very few companies offer the customer Mirrix offers long after the sale. They provide FREE education for bead, tapestry and mixed media weaving. We even have our own Mirrix Group on Face Book. Mirrix Looms is a small family owned business. All their looms are 100% made in the USA. They charge a fair price for the highest quality service and products. As a multiple owner of Mirrix Looms, I highly recommend them for all ages.

This my workhorse loom! I use it for tapestries and always use the shedding device. One of the wonderful things about Mirrix looms is that they hold up in Hawaii’s tropical climate. I love to take all my looms outside and bead!
